Best Friends Forever card

How cute is this image?  As soon as I saw this Eskimo Pie - Cut It set released at Lettering Delights I knew I wanted to make this card for one of my best friends......hope she doesn't see it here!

I made my base card using my Pazzles Inspiration software.  Essentially, it is a rectangle, I placed the move point tool at the centre of the bottom of the rectangle and dragged it down to make the curve!

I then selected - mirror - duplicate - apply and welded the 2 shapes (marked in red).  I drew a  kiss cut line horizontally - justified vertically and horizontally to make my base folded card.

I print and cut this cute Eskimo Pie svg for speed and just paper pieced the scarf using papers from the Eskimo Paper pack.

Finally, I made my tag using the LDJ Christmas Troll font.  I save a ton making my own personalised sentiments simply by downloading a font and add a hint of colour to coordinate with the rest of the card.

Eskimo Pie (svg) - by LD (for print and cut)
Eskimo Pie Paper Pack  - by LD  for background paper and paper pieced scarf.

Happy New Year card - cheers!

I thought I would make a quick New Year's card using my

I love the flourish on this image, so for speed I decided to Print & Cut the champagne .svg flute using my Pazzles software.

Lately, I have been looking around for some frames to make as shaped cards and I found a bunch of tags by Sheri McCulley at Lettering Delights Although these are Print & Cut Halloween tags I thought the cutting file tags were just perfect for shaped cards.  In time I know I am going to use all of them as they are such interesting shapes!

I simply chose a font from my computer and cut out '2013' to mark the special occasion....cheers and a

Swell Noel gift box using digital papers.

On my earlier blog post, I showed you how do use Print & Cut using Swell Noel Cut It Bundle by Sheri McCulley at Lettering Delights, together with my Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter.

So, for those of you that think this is too ambitious and are just starting out using your cutting machines, I thought I would show you how to use the cut file with digital papers.

I just download a digital paper from Swell Noel Graphic Collection bundle and printed a sheet using my printer menu.  The hardest part is choosing which paper to use....so guess what, I downloaded both paper packs!

I then laid my printed digital paper onto my cutting mat.  I then opened up my Pazzles Inspiration Studio Pro software and imported the svg file for the cute box and cut!

I then made myself a little label using the Swell Noel Alphabet.  I used the "Try Me Tool" to type my 2013 sentiment at high resolution and saved to my computer.

I then opened up my sentiment in Photoshop or you can use some similar program.  I saved it as a .jpeg as the Pazzles Studio software does not support .png files with transparent background!

This is how my label look before I print & cut it out in my cutter software.

I decorated the top of the box with one of my favourite ribbons, pins and flowers which I bought locally.

Now, I just need to fill the box with some goodies and give to someone in the New Year ...I hope they like it!

Swell Noel goodie boxes

I am so excited to show you these Swell Noel Boxes for print and cut, which can be purchased separately or are available in the Swell Noel Cut It Bundle by Sheri McCulley at LD.

They make just perfect little ornaments that can be hung up or as little goodie gift boxes which, I have filled with my children's favourite white chocolate money!

Here is how it looked on my cutting mat last night!

If you want to know how to make the registration boxes for Print & Cut, please take a look at one of my past TUTORIAL video.

Once I had printed my project from my Pazzles software using my printer I followed the following steps....

Lay printout exactly straight, at top, right corner of cutting mat (as above photo).

In your software group everything on you visual mat.

Select 'c' on your keyboard to open Transformation Menu.

Selection position, X Pos 12, and Y Pos 12 (if you are using a 12 x 12 cutting mat).

Select Apply.

Select Cut Project, select Continue.

Move your blade on your cutting using directional arrows to the exact point of the top, right hand corner of your 1st registration box.

Select 1st box then in Cut Control panel check Selected Object.

Test your 1st cut that it cuts exactly around 1st box, if not move to the next box and adjust directional arrows on cutter until you are happy.

Select cut line around your graphic and cut.

Has it worked.....hope so :)

Now you should be well on your way to Print & Cut projects like this one.

NOTE : if you have followed all the steps and it has not worked for you, make sure that when you printed out at the beginning your printout had BORDERLESS printing unchecked!

Candy Canes with sketch CTS#9

Thought I would try a sketch, it makes it quick and easy when you can just download everything to make a card using my Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter software!

The sketch is from CAS(E) this sketch CTS #9
I love the simplicity of it.

I love these simple Candy Canes from the Holiday Kit cut it project set by Patricia Zapata at LD.  I just imported the Candy Cane into my software, drew some lines and transformed them using the rhinestone feature in my Pazzles Studio Pro Software.

I then used this cute font LDJ Doodaddles which is available in the Fonts and Doodlebats sale until December 20th MST.....all font sets $1.

I just printed the whole lot onto white card and cut it out using a guillotine due to the straight edges....easy or what!

Don't forget the Holiday Kit can also be used for paperpiecing, click here to see

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Using fonts to make tags and labels

Have you seen the Fonts and Doodlebats on sale at LD where sets are only $1 until December 20th MST (click on links or images below).

I love to write out my own sentiments on tags and cards.  This is partly due to the fact that I don't have enough room to store a ton of stamps.  The other fact is that when I buy a stamp set there are usually only 3, out of a stamp set that I would actually use!

Using my Pazzles Studio Pro software makes using fonts so easy.

Once you have downloaded your fonts and placed them in your Window/fonts folder on your computer,  you can select them for typing from any desktop publishing program, word processor or Electronic Cutter software that uses true type fonts.

Incidentially, you can also use them in the Try Me Now Tool . Once you log into "My Account" and click on "My Library" and "My Lettering", you will see all of your purchased fonts. You can still download the fonts you have purchased.

These fonts normally begin with LD.......in your TrueType menu.

These fonts can be used in all sorts of projects, the possibilities are endless.

For the very simple tag I used LD Loud Larry font.

Either download a tag or make your own as I did.
Then just type in your sentiment and select the TrueType font in your software.

I, in fact typed separately For, then Santa, then !  This enabled me to select a different colour from the default menu for each of my words......just play and have fun.

Yesterday, I bought these treats already wrapped from Holly a young stall holder in our market town, Newbury, Berkshire in the United Kingdom.  She told me she has just started her own company SweetDreamin and I was explaining to here how easy it would be to personalise tags and labels using fonts!

Now, my kids are desperate to open this bag of goodies......

......sorry Santa another time!

Click here for Fonts and Doodlebats on sale at LD until December 20th MST.

Decorative Bauble in svg format

Did I tell you I love the Cut Flower Holiday Florist Bundle by designer Sheri McCulley, which is selling at Lettering Delights for only $16.00?  I am sure I have.....more than once, that's because her files are simply gorgeous

If you use a cutting machine like me, this bundle is just perfect as they come in ai, dxf, eps, gsd, jpg, pdf and svg file formats.

Don't forget to use them as Print & Cut projects too.

For this project I used the Cut Flower Holiday Tags which can be bought separately for only $4.00

Or, the sets can be purchased as the Cut Flower Holiday Florist Bundle for $16.00.

I cut the base layer using Kraft card which I made by using shadow/outline in my software.  I ran the white cardstock though my Cuttlebug using my favourite Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I then cut out the decorative tag with my Pazzles Inspiration.  Wow, don't you just love this design.

I then simply tied a bow and added my embellishments for the finishing touch.

I was in such a rush to take a photograph of this project that I forgot to photograph the other side of the decorative bauble!  All I did was to simply duplicate and mirror the design for the back.

Click here to get the Cut Flower Holiday Florist Bundle....you will love it, and use it for so many projects.

Also, remember to take a peek at the Alphabet Sale available till December, 13th.
