Treat Cup Holder Card - TUTORIAL

Yesterday, I posted my Treat Cup Holder Card , so
  today, I thought I would show you some of the steps how I created it.

I have used the LD Klingelingeling - Turkey Lip Balm (CP) Cut Project file,
which allowed me the flexibility to alter the file.

The cutting file is FREE till tonight, midnight, MST.

The actual file is to fit an EOS smooth sphere Lip Balm which comes in a range of colours, but I could not find one locally, so I thought I would adapt the file.

I imported the file onto my Pazzles software. I altered the brown for the turkey, because when I printed it out using my printer, it was too dark!  Using the cutting file enabled me to deselect the layers and alter the colour using my colour palette to make it slightly lighter. I would not have been able to do this if I had used the (GS) graphic set.

The only part that I needed to alter was the size of the circle that would hold the Stampin Up Treat Cup.  I measured my Treat Cup and enlarged the circle on the Turkey's tummy to
1.7" for a perfect fit.

I then Print and Cut the base design onto white cardstock using my Pazzles Inspiration Vue cutting machine.

So, I now have a turkey with a big hole in the centre to fit my Treat Cup.

 I filled the Treat Cup with assorted colours of  Skittles to match my turkey.  I had a sneaky taste of the flavours too!

I cut a circle of vellum/parchment paper, slightly larger than the cup and adhered it to the sticky strip around the back of the cup.

Using vellum/parchment paper means you can easily piece the paper to get at the treats without destroying the card!

Don't they look colourful and the colour of the Skittles match my card perfectly!

I then inserted the cup from the back of the printed Turkey card.

Then, I cut my base card using Kraft Card and placed the hole so that it matched the hole in the turkey using my Pazzles software made this step very easy.

  I used some strong tape to attach the front of the card to the Kraft Card. Using Kraft Card gives extra strength and keeps it stable when upright, due to the weight of the treats.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.......very neat.

I hope you enjoyed my adapted card.  If you have access to the Lip Balms you will not need to alter the original file.

This file is available for FREE till tonight, midnight MST and you now have a couple of options on how to use the file.  If you miss the offer, you are still able to use the file but it will revert back to the original price.

Sock Monkey Pilgrim Gift Bag

I love the new LD Sock Monkey sets which can be found dressed as Pilgrims, Native Americans, Turkeys and playing with pumpkins.  

For my project I have used the LD Knit Wits - November CS and GS.

I decided that I would Print and Cut the elements to decorate my gift bag using my Pazzles Inspiration Vue which has an optical eye for recognising the registration marks which helps with accurate cuts.

First of all, I Print and Cut the Pilgrim Sock Monkey using the CS and used the sentiment "Count Your Blessings" from the GS (click images below).

I also used one of the bags from the very useful Doe-it-herself Gift Bags CP set.  There are 11 different styled bags.  Of course, they can be reduced in size and also enlarged using your cutting machine.

For my gift bag, I chose one with no flap which is included in the set.  I omitted the side scores and just kept it as a basic bag.  I also added a strip of cardstock for the handle.  

Love, love this set as my "go to" for gift bags.

Thanksgiving Frame

I am dedicating this post to all my crafting followers that celebrate Thanksgiving.  

"Wishing you a blessed weekend with your families".

I purchased this distressed frame from a local store, very cheaply, and thought it would be great to add a simple Thanksgiving printable.  I cut my patterned paper to fit the frame which can be done using a paper trimmer or your cutting machine.

I then printed out the Subway Art - Thanksgiving printable using my printer options, but it could easily be resized in you Pazzles software is you so wished.

I then cut out a leaf with my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine using brown cardstock which I embossed using one of my Cuttlebug folders.  I then layered it onto the patterned paper and adhered onto my frame using a sticky glue dot. 

Finally, I added some embellishments to the top, left corner of my frame from my crafting stash.

A simple, quick frame which can easily be altered for the next festive holiday.

Thanksgiving - Pilgrim Hat Gift Box

 

Here, is a project dedicated to all my fellow crafter's who celebrate Thanksgiving.  Sadly, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK, but I can't help creating projects....they are such FUN!  I made my Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat gift box using one of the LD Cut It Project files called Gobble Gratitude.

Here are the pieces cut out. I was so excited when the project came together, especially when I realised that it made a little gift box depending on how you assemble it!

I Print & Cut the little tag Happy Thanksgiving using my Pazzles Inspiration.

I love the little buckle and hat band.
