Decorated Paper Bag

As soon as I saw This Mum's For You - Cut It set by LD, I couldn't wait to grab my pretty pink papers and cut it out using my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine.

Get the Pazzles Inspiration, the most comprehensive electronic die cutter available, for as little as 99 dollars down.

The flower comes in 2 layers with the leaves included in the set.

I cut a strip of patterned paper to my wooden clothes peg and added a fabric flower.

I don't often decorate paper bags, but I should do so more often, as it was so quick and easy.  Much prettier than those ghastly shop bought gift bags that cost a fortune!

You Stole My Heart - Auto Trace Tutorial

Mid flow into schools holidays, and there is so little time to craft, unless it's a quick card using Print & Cut.  I tried to have a go with this cute graphic file a few days ago, but couldn't get it to trace around the image very well, as you will see their is a feint grey shadow when you download the image.

I have used the LD Cops Graphics set and there is also a LD My Hero's Bundle which includes, Cops, Firefighters and Doctors sets....so adorable.

I was about to give up, but decided to have another go, to try and omit the grey outline surrounding the graphics image. I Auto Traced the image selecting the robbers black top and carefully moved the Intensity Detect making sure I got a neat enough trace (LOW-224).

Here is my autotraced image below.

I have thickened my line and made it green, for the purpose of this tutorial.  I moved the Auto Traced line on top my image.  Delete the scraggly bits to the right of the image as they are not needed.

Hope you are still with me!

Then, I made an Outline Thickness of 0.10 as seen by the red outline.  Don't worry if your lines are not the same colour.  The red outline is your cutting line and you can delete the green line.

Nearly there!

Ready to print having made the registration boxes and selected null pen to temporarily remove the cutting line so that it does not print out!

As you can see in the above photo, the shadow outline from the image is still showing.  It finally worked.....using a bit of extra brain cell matter!  Looking back it seems easy.

I know....... my cutting mat is really shameful, but it is a very old one!

I have cut out one of my registration boxes and made a slight adjustment to the blade placement.  It has cut out beautifully.  Now to finish off the card.

I added a small punched heart that just about covered the $ sign on his bag.  I should have made it slightly bigger but my youngest child was trying to get to sleep.....forced Pazzles bedtime too!

I simply typed my sentiment onto some white thick paper and cut it using my paper trimmer.

A bit of matting and layering using coloured cardstock with some craft foam pads.

Phew, sorry for the long post but I needed to share this one with you.....one happy crafter.

No Boys - Bedroom Door Sign

Today, I thought I would share with you a cute door sign for my daughter's room which I made a while ago and never got round to posting here on my blog.

She has been working hard during the 1/2 term holidays preparing for exams!  However, it is hard when her younger brother keeps coming into her room asking her to play.  So, I thought she would like this fun door sign using files from

I Print & Cut the cute image, then cut out the elements of the frame using my

Get the Pazzles Inspiration, the most comprehensive electronic die cutter available, for as little as 99 dollars down.

"No Boys......allowed!"

I love this cute image which is available in Graphic or Cut It format.  I decided to add a fun element to the door sign by using a Action Wobble Spring.

Action Wobble Springs add movement to cards and scrapbook pages. There is a small plastic spring with double sided mounting on the outsides.

My son is fascinated playing with the door sign which distracts him from playing with his sister..... momentarily!

Teardrop Trailer Treat Box - Caravan

Here is my latest project as a Pazzles Design Team member.
I am so pleased how this 3D project came together, a combination of a lovely cutting file with gorgeous patterned papers.

I filled my treat box with these yummy fruit pieces of rock, to go with the holiday theme.  I hasten to add that my 3 kids have eaten them all, so it's a trip to my local sweet shop to buy some for myself!

I really tweet you

This is a really quick post tonight, as I am exhausted being a taxi service to my children!  However, I just managed a bit of time to cut out this cute LD Angled Box and Bird from the LD Serendipity set of Cut It Projects at Lettering Delights, when I returned from work this afternoon!

I cut the box and bird using my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine.

This bird is sooooo cute, and I just had to add the hearts using one of my kids craft punches.

I printed the sentiment using a font already installed in my software and then typed out the LD Welcome to the Jungle - Alphabet, printed it out on my home computer and used my tag punch.

I did make one alteration to the file, as I don't like how the Pazzles Inspiration cuts the fold lines.  So I tend to draw my own Kiss Cut lines (perforations) in one colour and delete the original lines....just my preference.

Please browse my past posts for projects using this bundle.

Pretty Pennants

From time to time, I see a cutting file and would just love to have the time to cut, but then think to myself, I can do that when time allows.  So, sometimes I just like to design a card using a cutting file and print it out....quick and simple.

I have used This Mum's For You Pennants from Lettering Delights which come in ai, dxf, eps, gsd, jpg, pdf and svg cuttable file formats.

For the 2 cards, I have used the svg format.  I drew myself a rectangle, then selected arc from path to draw myself the string for the pennants.  Once I imported the svg pennant into my software, I resized them, and slightly rotated the pennant to fit along the string.

I then, typed my sentiment and used the colour picker tool to match the colour of the font from the pennants. I printed the design out on my home printer and used my guillotine to trim around the rectangle design. I cut our my base card and cut a smaller layer out of pink the card.  Each card was made in different colour ways matching the colour of the font 'Grateful' and 'Just a note' to my card base.

It would be quite simple to make a batch of these as a gift.

Click here to see This Mum's For You Pennants which are included in the Great Gift Giving Bundle on special offer during May at $40.00.

I would love to hear your comments ~ Joanna
